Thank you to those people who have put down a time to come and see me for a parent interview. There are still some people who age not put down a time to come and see me. If you could do this as soon as possible that would be greatly appreciated as I am currently writing my notes for you to take home with you. If any of the times do not suit, please email me.
Thank you

Parent Interviews in Week 9,10 and 11
In week 9 and 10 and 11 I will be holding parent interviews as apart of our whole school assessment schedule. I would appreciate it if I could see everyone to discuss their child's progress so far this term and to have a chat about the rest of the year. I will be putting a parent interview roster up outside the classroom with options of times from 3:10pm - 5:25pm. If there are times you cannot make on the schedule, please email me and I will try to arrange a time with you. Your child is not required to be present during our interview.
Each interview will last for 15 minutes which will be timed so that people are not waiting around after their allocated time. If you require longer than 15 minutes, we can arrange another time to finish the interview. A copy of the interview notes will be given to you to take home for your records.
Please see below the schedule that will be outside the classroom this afternoon.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

Palm Sunday Liturgy
Palm Sunday Liturgy
As part of our school’s preparations for Holy Week, the whole school will be gathering at 9am each morning in the hall throughout week 9 to participate in a short re-enactment of the events of Holy Week.
Year 1P and Year 2T will be performing on Monday the 26th March at 9am. Parents are most welcome to come along and watch. This will be no longer than 15-20 minutes. There are a few different parts that will be allocated across the classes.
Costume ideas for parts as follows:
· Jesus/Disciples – an old sheet/pillow slip with a piece cut out for the head and arms. An oversized t-shirt would also the trick. Tie a rope/sash around the waist.
· Palm wavers: A towel/tea towel with a rope/lacky band over their head.
· Readers – To stay in school uniform. If your child receives a reading part to practise at home they do not require a costume.
Please feel free to use your own creative licence to modify costumes as you wish. Costumes should be simple and only take 1-5 minutes to put together. We are also happy with something as simple as a head piece, or anything that the children can throw over their uniform to emphasise the era. School uniforms can with be worn under the costume, or be packed into the children’s school bags to change into, following the performance.
Please have the children ready in their costume on the Monday morning during gathering time. We will go straight across to the hall to get ready on stage when the bell rings at 8:45am.
Thank you for your support in preparing this special liturgy. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Sun Chime STEM project
In Science, the Year One
students have been learning about light and sound. We have learnt about how
sound reaches our ears through sound waves and light is a form of energy that
is detected by our eyes.
As apart of our Science
Program, the Year One students were asked to create a sun chime to both catch
the sunlight and make a pleasant sound when the wind blows.
We reviewed our
environment and found that the tree in the Early Childhood playground would be
the perfect place for our sun chimes.
The children chose their
groups of three and began to plan their ideas. They sketched their design and
labeled what materials they would use. We then invited some parent helpers in
to help us construct our designs. Throughout the construction process, the
children showed various communication, reasoning and negotiating skills to
design their sun chime as a group. The rich conversations they engaged in to
change and adapt their design created a buzz around the ECC area, which led to
individual and creative sun chimes being produced.
Thank you x 1000 to our outstanding parent helpers who came in to help us on Friday. You twisting, fixing, gluing and laminating skills were second to none! Another huge thank you to those lovely parents who took home very tricky shells and strung them up while your children slept. We appreciate all the parent help and could not have done it without you!
Here are some of the wonderful pictures of the children creating their sun chimes
Thank you

Worm farm Wonder....and Palm Sunday Liturgy
In the Early Childhood Centre, we were very lucky to have a worm farm donated at the beginning of the year from Bunnings in Busselton. As apart of our Food Garden program, the Year one students have been asked to set up and look after a worm farm which will enable us to produce compost and nutrient rich worm tea to put back into our garden.
We were very lucky to have four very keen students from our class to help set up our worm farm on Monday. They loved learning about what the worms ate, how they came up to the surface and how we could look after them to keep them happy and healthy. Our class will be taking turns to learn about and care for the worms over the coming term.
Here is a picture of some of our happy worm farmers!
Palm Sunday Liturgy
On Monday the 26th of March at 9am, the children in Year 1P and 2T will be performing a short Liturgy focused around the Holy Week event of Palm Sunday. We will be organising acting parts and reading parts over the next few days in which some of your children may receive readings to practise. This will only be a short 15-20 minute Liturgy and will require minimal costuming (if there is any). Please keep and eye on the blog in the coming week for more information.
Have a lovely night.

Sun Chime materials
Thank you to all those people who have started collecting items for our sun chimes. All of the children did a wonderful job of planning and designing their sun chimes and we had some very clever people who came up with some outstanding materials that could be used to capture light and create sound.
If you could please bring in any of the following things into class:
- Bottle tops
- Old coat hangers
- Buttons
- Gem stones
- old sun glasses
- Old CD's
- Unused keys
- Mirror tiles (mosaics)
- Old spoons/forks
- Twine
- Shells
- Plastic plates
...plus anything else you can think of!
We will also require some helpers to help construct our sun chimes next Friday the 16th of March from 9.30am - 11.00am. If you are able to help at all, please email me as we would very much appreciate many hands to construct our creations!
Thank you for your on going support.
