Last Week of Year One!

OH MY GOODNESS!

I can't believe we are at the end! have absolutely loved having every single on of your children in my class and I will miss them so much next year! I can safely say that I have learnt so much from your children and it has been an absolute privilege to have taught them. They have gone from strength to strength and they amaze me every day with their learning, more often than not, teaching me a thing or two.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents this year, from washing tea towels, cutting up pieces of card for an activity, hot days on excursions and marking spelling tests,  you have made such a difference this year and I am so thankful that you have been there to support your child (and the class) on their learning journey. Your commitment to listening to your child read reading, calling out tricky sight words and double taking on what is being asked in the Think Mentals, you have provided your children with a wonderful foundation for future years of learning, and they will be reaping the benefits. A special thank you to our wonderful parent reps Sarah Breheny and Alice Huxtable who did a wonderful job this year.

A lot of work has been put in by our fabulous education assistants Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Annert, Mrs. Beatty, Mrs. Derickx and Mrs. Peacock who has helped the children throughout the year in more ways I can list. It has also been such a great dynamic working with Miss Rundle as we were able to work cohesively to ensure the best learning was occurring across the Year One co-hort.

Please pop in and see me when you can as I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you!

A few reminders for our final week together:

Just a little more parent help required...
We would love some parent helpers to assist us with end of term cleaning of toys and chairs this Wednesday morning straight after drop off. Many hands make light work! If you are able to help, please email me ASAP. Thanks in anticipation for your help.

Sight Words
A collection of the first 200 sight words are on the children's desk mats which will go home this week. Some extra practice over the holidays to consolidate reading and spelling of these words would be very beneficial.

Returns
We require all PLD packs, overdue library books and home readers back this week before the year is out!

Plastic bags
We will start sending home some books throughout the week, to avoid the children lugging too much home on Friday. Donations of plastic bags will help us to pack things into the students' bags. Portfolio files will go home on Friday with some of your children's precious work samples from throughout the year, along with an end of year report.

Merry Christmas and God bless you and your families over the Christmas holidays and Thank you again for such an outstanding year! No doubt I will bump into at some point!
