Welcome to Week Four

 Dear Parents,

What a start to our week 4 with some very wet and wild weather! I hope you managed to stay warm and out of the rain (unlike myself at pick up lane on Monday!)

Just a few messages for this week...

Our Learning

We have been very busy in Year 1P with some amazing things happening across all learning areas!

In English we have been learning about persuasive texts in both reading and writing and have loved reading through our Mentor Texts of 'Winter is the best season in Dunsborough' and 'Do you want to be a pirate?'. The children have loved extending and learning about new vocabulary as well as writing their own versions of each of the texts. I have been blown away with the amazing writing the children have been producing...who would have imagined these wonderful children could produce paragraphs! Have a look at some of this amazing work below!

P.S I love the last reason of Mum and Dad can't get you!

In Maths we have loved learning about Skip counting, Multiplication (equal groups) and division. The children have loved taking part in hands on activities to explore how division and multiplication relate to one another.

Paul Klee and Picasso have been our Artist focus in Art and the children have loved creating their reflections for display in our class. You may have seen a sneak peak in our classroom this morning put up by the beautiful Mrs. Hughes.

In Science we have loved learning about clouds, Day and night and all things earth and space! The children absolutely loved seeing our cloud in a jar experiment last week! Have a look at the video below if you'd like to do it at home.

I hope you have had a lovely week and look forward o more fun and learning ahead!
